Your Next Step is the Most Important
Is It a Dental Emergency?
If you’re not sure, call us anyway—we’ll help you figure it out. But here are a few situations that typically count as a dental emergency:
- Sudden, severe toothache that won’t go away
- Swelling in the gums or face
- Knocked-out or loose adult tooth
- Cracked, broken, or chipped tooth
- Lost filling, crown, or bridge
- Ongoing bleeding after a procedure
- Signs of infection (such as a pimple-like bump on the gums)
Not all of these cases are necessarily always an emergency, but any of them deserves prompt attention. Getting seen quickly can help:
- Relieve pain and restore comfort
- Prevent infection or further complications
- Save a tooth that might otherwise be lost
- Get you back to your life (and your lunch)

What to Do Right Now
First and foremost, if you feel you might be facing a dental emergency, please give us a call for advice. We’ll help you figure out whether you need to be seen right away or can wait for a few days.
Tooth knocked out?
Keep the tooth moist—preferably in milk or tucked gently back into the socket (if safe to do so). Call us immediately.
Toothache or swelling?
Call us right away. Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress outside the cheek. Over-the-counter painkillers can also help ease your discomfort. But don’t put aspirin directly on your gums—it doesn’t help, and can irritate the tissue.
Cracked or broken tooth?
Rinse your mouth and save any pieces you can find. A cold compress may help with swelling. Call us immediately.
Bleeding that won’t stop?
Apply clean gauze and gentle pressure. If it continues, seek help right away.
Lost filling, crown, or bridge?
Give us a call and explain the situation. We’ll determine how urgent it is and advise you on what to do next.
Cost Concerns? We’ll Talk You Through It.
We understand that emergency dental visits aren’t always in the budget. Our team will walk you through your options, help with insurance questions, and refer you to flexible financing if needed. We want you to focus on feeling better, rather than stressing over costs.
